Hot and Cold Therapy best for Sciatica

Percutane and Traumitane provide relief from sciatica

Sciatica is described as pain that results from a pinched or irritated sciatic nerve. This nerve runs down your lower back through your hips and buttocks and down each leg.  Sciatica pain is often a dull pain, but it also can be sharp and can travel or “shoot” down your leg. Symptoms of sciatica may include numbness, tingling or weakness along with pain.

The Mayo Clinic recommends physical therapy and staying active as excellent treatment options for sciatica. Percutane can help you stay active by increasing circulation and aiding joint and muscle mobility. Apply before activity to activate and warm up stiff and aching joints, tendons and muscles, to help get you moving.

Hot and cold therapy is another treatment option for sciatica recommended by the Mayo Clinic. When used together (Percutane in the morning and Traumitane at night), our topical creams simulate hot and cold therapy.  Percutane generates a warming effect as it contains capsaicin derived from chili peppers. While the extra-strength arnica and menthol in Traumitane combine to provide a rapid cooling effect which is amplified if the product is stored in the fridge.
